Who we are

SBS Flat Roofing is a roofing contractor based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, providing SBS torch-down flat roofing installation, repair, and maintenance across Calgary, Airdrie, Okotoks, Chestermere, Bearspaw, Cochrane, Canmore, Banff.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through https://sbsflatroofing.ca/, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It applies to this website only — not to information you give us in person, by phone, or on a job site, which we handle under the same principles.

Information you give us

The only information this website asks you for is what you type into our estimate request form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the city your property is in, the service you need, and whatever you tell us about your project.

You choose what to send. We ask only for what we need to price a roof and get back to you.

How we use it

We use the information in your enquiry to respond to you, prepare an estimate, schedule an on-site or satellite assessment, and carry out any work you go on to hire us for.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade, or share it with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you requested a quote.

How form submissions are handled

This site is a static website hosted on Netlify. When you submit the estimate form, the contents are processed by Netlify Forms and delivered to us by email. Netlify stores the submission on its infrastructure so we can retrieve it, and its servers may be located outside Canada — meaning your submission may be stored in, and subject to the laws of, another country.

Netlify also records standard technical information with each submission, such as the IP address the form was sent from, for spam filtering. Our form includes a hidden anti-spam field; if you are a human filling in the form normally, you will never see or interact with it.

Server logs

Like any website, ours is served by a host that keeps access logs. These typically include IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. They are used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing technical faults — not to build a profile of you.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own, and it does not run cross-site behavioural advertising.

Our web fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third-party font service, so simply reading a page on this site does not hand your IP address to a font provider.

The contact page embeds a Google Maps frame so you can see our service area. If you load that page, Google receives a request from your browser and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. If you would rather not, you can reach the same information by calling or emailing us.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond, quote, and carry out work, and afterwards for as long as we are required to for warranty, tax, and legal record-keeping. When information is no longer needed for any of those purposes, we delete it.

Keeping it secure

This site is served over HTTPS, so what you send through the form is encrypted in transit. We limit access to enquiry details to the people who need them to do the work. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and withdraw your consent to our using it — subject to legal and contractual limits.
